Setting the units and update rate is intuitive.  There are two possible modes of connecting with the Mac running WeatherCat.  If you intend to run this application only within a local area network, then leave the setting at the top to local.  If you would like to access your personal weather station data from anywhere, you'll need to set up an internet connection.  To do this, refer to the ''How Do I Use The WeatherCat Client Program?'' in the WeatherCat manual.  There is additional information on how to do this on the WeatherCat forum.

You can drag any data display to a new location.  The display will snap to an invisible grid to make alignment easier.  As shown above, you have a choice of data display styles: horizontal data bar, vertical data bar, circular gauge, or text only.  Because each style will change the alignment, it is best to select the style first and then align the data displays to your liking.  To make changes to the display, click on the display itself.  This will bring up a dialog shown below:

Using this dialog, you can manipulate the display as noted above and also adjust the size of the display.  There is one other option that you might want to adjust: the background.  To change this click on the ''Background'' button as shown below:

If you would like to access your personal weather station data from anywhere, you'll need to set up an Internet connection. Relocating and customizing the data fields: WeatherCat iPad can be easily customized to display data in many ways. This will change the display slightly so that now fields that have been hidden are now visible. Hidden fields are data displays that have been made invisible. By default, the current conditions are hidden because that data isn't available from WeatherCat at the moment. However, you may wish to hide other fields because for example the data isn't available on your weather station or perhaps that sort of information isn't useful in your location.

To change this click on the Background button as shown below:

This allows you select a number of neutral colors as a background. If you would like to be more elaborate and use a photo on your iPad, click on the appropriate button text:

This will allow to navigate through the photos you have stored on your iPad. keep in mind however that WeatherCat iPad has only one background for both portrait and landscape orientations, so choose a photo that produces a comfortable background for both orientations if you expect to be using this application in both orientations.

Once you have modified your display to your liking, click on the Done button to store the settings as you like it. As noted above, WeatherCat iPad works in both portrait and landscape orientations. The data display layout of each orientation is completely independent of the other. So if you expect to change orientations, you might want to customize the data display layout for the other orientation, once you have completed the first.
